Houston Rodeo Trip Part I - Blendin Coffee Club and the Kotowa Las Brujas

A washed Panama Geisha from Boquete doesn’t come cheap, but at Blendin Coffee Club, it’s worth every penny. Tucked inside an alley on Allen Parkway in Houston, this specialty coffee shop offers pour overs that can push past $20 a cup. Looking over their pour over menu will make you envious and your wallet nervous.

I’ve been leaning towards lighter roasts as of late and the Panama Geisha piqued my interest. With labeled tasting notes of Jasmine, Green Apple, and Longan, my $14 brew of Kotowa Las Brujas was bright with the definitive suggestion of fruit and a very clean finish. As the cup cooled down, the floral notes started to pop. I regret not grabbing a bag to take home. Highly recommend Blendin Coffee Club and their team of baristas who really know their stuff. I ordered a round of espresso based drinks for the family and headed out. With our palates primed and appetites growing, it was time for some grub. Good thing Truth Barbecue is right down the street.
